Pet Portrait Commissions

The animal portraits are created traditionally, working with Faber-Castell polychromo pencils on Daler Rowney smooth-heavyweight 220gm2 paper.

To draw your animal, I work from a reference photo that you supply. I draw the portrait exactly as it is in the reference photo, so please ensure that the photo you supply is how you wish the portrait to look. The higher quality photograph you supply, the higher quality the portrait will be. The quality of the photograph you supply needs to be high enough to see the animal's fur while zooming in.

Pictures taken on most smartphones will be fine, you do not need an expensive camera to take a high-quality picture. If you are unsure of the best photo, please send through multiple images.

Soft lighting will provide the best photograph, you can usually take the best photographs outside on an overcast day. Avoid direct sunlight as this will create dark shadows over your pets. Photographs taken indoors with dark, artificial lighting will not make for a suitable reference photo.

A deposit of 25% is needed to secure the booking (this is non-refundable once the drawing has been started). The full balance will only be paid when you are 100% happy with the drawing.
